Linter-Ansible-Syntax aims to provide functional and robust
Ansible syntax check linting functionality within Atom.
Ansible is required to be installed (preferably from a package or a pip) before using this. The
Language-Ansible Atom packages are also required.
ansible-playbook --syntax-checkoutput sometimes does not output line and column information for errors. When it guesses the line and column, then that information will be displayed. If it does not, the error will be displayed at line 1, column 1.
Ansiblesyntax check only outputs the first error it encounters and therefore only the first error in a playbook will be displayed.
Ansiblesyntax check functionality is only operable on a playbook. If your playbook contains roles and/or includes anywhere in the playbook, then these will be checked as well with recent versions of
Ansible. You can quickly navigate to errors in includes and roles using the provided
Statusbar Represents, you will need to change their options to
Entire Project. This will allow you to use either display to quickly access issues in other files by clicking on the displayed information.
Good catch. Let us know what about this package looks wrong to you, and we'll investigate right away.
