The Grammar Tab Colors atom package allows you to have custom tab decorations in githubs atom text editor

Using apm:
apm install grammar-tab-colors
Or search for grammar-tab-colors
in Atom settings view
Set the colors you would like in each tab via the packages settings.
Select the style of decoration you would like, along with applicable settings. (e.g. Opacity, size & position of the decirations.)

If you are looking for a package to provide tab colors by filename, rather than grammar, I strongly recommend installing Paul Pflugradt's and Averrin's packages (linked above).
